Christmas & Permanent Light Installation in Hixson, TN

Seasonal displays and year-round architectural lighting for Hixson homes and Hixson Pike businesses.

Lighting built for Hixson rooflines

Hixson sits north of the river and has been building steadily for sixty years, so it is genuinely mixed: mid-century ranches on established streets, later infill, and newer subdivisions climbing the ridges toward Big Ridge and out toward Chickamauga Lake. Ranch houses are low and reachable but often have shallow or interrupted fascia. The ridge-side houses are the opposite — straightforward edges on ground that falls away hard. Both are normal work. They are just not the same work.

That mix is why the consult matters more here than a brochure. Newer Hixson houses take a permanent track well, and it is the obvious answer where the fascia runs straight. On the older ranches a seasonal display is often better value, because the run is short, reachable and quick to service. We tell you which we would fit before you have paid for anything.

What a Hixson install actually takes

Two things come up repeatedly. First, tree cover: Hixson’s established streets have big mature hardwoods, and branches over a roofline change both the sightline and where a lift can stand. Second, terrain — on the ridge-side lots the back of the house can sit a full storey below the front, so the rear run is a different job from the frontage. Both get decided on the site visit.

There is commercial frontage here too, around the Northgate area and along Hixson Pike, mostly retail and office. Those runs are planned around trading hours and installed in sections, and they tend to be permanent rather than seasonal — nobody wants to rehang a shopfront every year.

What we install

Christmas & Seasonal

Full-service holiday displays: design, commercial-grade lights, installation, in-season service, then takedown and storage.

JellyFish Permanent

Track-mounted permanent lighting tucked under the roofline. Millions of colors, app controlled, holiday or everyday.

Bosso Smart Lighting

A permanent lighting alternative with its own fixture and control system. We fit it to homes JellyFish does not suit.

Commercial & HOA

Storefronts, offices, common areas and entrances, scheduled installs that work around your business hours.

Christmas and seasonal light installation in Hixson

Seasonal lighting is a full service, not a box of lights from a shelf. We design the display around your roofline, install commercial-grade product cut to fit your house, and service it through the season if anything goes dark. After the holidays we take it down and store it until next year, so nothing lives in your garage and nothing gets crushed between seasons.

Booking order decides the calendar. Installs run in the order they are booked, so the earliest dates go to whoever called first. If you want the lights on before the first weekend of December, get on the list well before the season starts.

Permanent outdoor lighting in Hixson

Permanent lighting is a slim track fixed under the roofline that stays up all year and reads as trim from the street. Run warm white on an ordinary evening, color through December, orange and white for a Saturday in autumn, or switch it off entirely. It is all controlled from an app, so nobody climbs anything.

We install two systems. JellyFish is the one most people have heard of and we are an authorized dealer. Bosso is an alternative with its own fixture and control system that suits some rooflines better. We bring both to the consult and tell you which fits your house, including when that is the cheaper option.

Commercial and HOA lighting in Hixson

We light storefronts, offices, entrances and common areas as well as homes. Commercial work is scheduled around your trading hours so the install never costs you a business day, and a larger property can be phased across several visits.

If an HOA, a landlord or a historic district has rules about fixture color, brightness or where a track may sit, bring them to the consult and we design to them from the start rather than asking for an exception later.

Hixson questions we get asked

Is Hixson the city or the county?
City of Chattanooga, which surprises people who've been here a while. Hixson used to be unincorporated and it still reads that way in conversation, but it's inside the city limits now, so permitting runs through Chattanooga's Inspection Division on Market Street. Red Bank next door is its own city with its own office, and Middle Valley to the north is unincorporated county. Three jurisdictions inside a short drive.
Do we need a permit to put a track on the house?
Maybe, and we ask rather than assume. We put the question to the city for your specific address before anything is designed. It costs a phone call and it's the cheapest part of the whole job.
We have a ranch house. Is permanent worth it or should we stay seasonal?
Both work here and it has more to do with your roofline than your budget. The mid-century ranches around Hixson often have shallow or interrupted fascia, so a permanent track takes more planning to fit properly, though a ranch also carries less linear footage than a two-story, which tends to put the quote nearer the entry price. Permanent stays up year-round and covers any holiday, not just December. A seasonal display costs less up front and comes down in January. We price both at the consult.
Our lot drops off behind the house toward Big Ridge. How does that work?
The rear becomes its own job. On the ridge-side lots the back of the house can sit a full story below the front, with different access and different lift positioning. Nothing about that is harder, but it's a separate measurement and a separate plan, and it's the reason we won't quote off an aerial. Signal Mountain has the same issue with a steeper driveway attached.
We're in an HOA. Who needs to approve this?
Your board, and before we design rather than after. Covenants vary wildly between subdivisions here and some of them speak to exterior fixtures without ever using the word lighting. We'll give you whatever documentation the board wants, including what the track looks like in daylight, which is usually the question that settles it.
